It was a hard struggle for Beggen today
Up Arrow It was a hard struggle for Beggen today
Sunday, 05 September 2010 - In an absolute thriller, Beggen opened the score already after only 27 seconds, when Nzita headed in a great cross by Lazaar from the right. After 2', the visitors goalie dropped a ball, but Denigro was just one step too late. After 10', Teixeira put an attempt far, 2' on, Hostert had their first try. An incredible scene was to be noted after 13': Hostert goalie Beltitane (who played for Wiltz last season) caught the ball with his hands at least 2m out of his box. The referee, who was right next to this, didn't stop the game and send him off (like in last season's Wiltz v Beggen game), but kept it on going, unbelievable! After 16', Hostert put a free-kick just past the goal, 3' later Denigro doubled the score for Beggen after another good cross by Lazaar from the right! Finally, it turned a little calmer, Hostert having had the next attempt after 29', but they missed again. 3' later, they had another strike from far range, Chrismousse needed two tries to catch this one. Soon later, Denigro didn't get the ball under control, in a good position, while Hostert missed a lob 6' from halftime. 1' from the break, Medina missed another one for Hostert, but during injury time, the former Beggen striker shortened, coming through over the right. Also during injury time, Hostert hammered a free-kick onto the crossbar. For the second halftime, a strike by Molitor was saved on the goal line, Chrismousse saved in the same way after a Hostert attempt in the 51st minute. On the other end, a Denigro strike was saved, before Beggen were awarded a free-kick in the 56th minute: Nzita took the strike and hammered it in to make it 3-1! But Hostert came back. After 59', Pintar shortened by using a major defending mistake and 3' on, they used a header by Marchal to equalise. Hostert were on control during the opening phase of the second period, Beggen were acting for a while in a disarray, Hostert missing two major attempts. But 11' from time, Denigro was send deep over the right and nicely lobbed the goalie to bring Beggen up again. Hostert and Beggen still missed one attempt each, before, during a total of 5 minutes of added time, Hostert almost managed to equalise, hitting first the post and the rebound was kicked far over the bar, so that Beggen finally win, maybe a little lucky, but certainly deserved.
